People often ask me what my secret is. Here’s the truth: it isn’t a supplement, a superfood, or a strict diet. It’s information.
I test myself for everything: food intolerances, DNA, gut health, omega-3 levels. Not because I’m obsessed with numbers, but because guesswork has no place in a nutrition plan that’s meant to actually work for your body.
We are lucky. We live at a time when testing has become so sophisticated, and so simple, that a kit can arrive at your home or workplace, you complete it, and post it straight back through the letterbox. No clinic visit, no fuss.
Why does this matter so much to me? Because knowing my own body, its levels, its intolerances, its gut, was central to how I turned around my hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia without medication. I didn’t guess my way there. I tested my way there.
And this is the part people miss: the results aren’t the end point, they’re the starting point. A gut test might tell you you’re low in a certain bacteria, so we adjust fibre and fermented foods accordingly. A DNA test might show you process caffeine slowly, so we look at timing, not just quantity. An omega-3 test might reveal you need more than a standard multivitamin gives you. Nothing is generic once you have the numbers in front of you.
A nutritionist can build you a plan based on general principles. But the plan that’s actually built for you only comes once the guesswork is gone.
Prevention rather than cure.
